I Carved Out a Work From Home Office In A Dormer

work from home nook painted sunny colors
I am back sharing another makeover that I tackled. This one was just a quick paint makeover using left over paint. The pink is Behr Retro Pink and the yellow is Luscious Lemon also from Behr.  Since virtual learning started in March, Zion started using my designated office for virtual learning, so I needed to find another location for working from home. I chose this dormer area in the "man cave." It gets lots of natural light and I love that I can also close the door if needed. However, it needed a little something extra so I repainted and on the back wall, I added a pop of yellow.

The table and chair are actually thrift finds I scored a few years ago. It's a simple, happy space, that I enjoy working from home in. xx

The Guest Bedroom Receives A Refresh-Again

Guest bedroom painted dark with mural

I did this refresh earlier in the year, but didn't get around to posting about it here. I figured now is a great time to showcase a few of the projects that I tackled this year before going into 2021. This is the 3rd refresh this bedroom has seen hence, the title. Things are always changing around here!:-)

Before and after-guest bedroom
The pic above shows the before and after the first time I gave the guest bedroom a refresh.  It was a lovely transformation back then and then

Colorful guest bedroom

for this refresh version, I partnered with Minted to add that delicious mural. I loved it in each stage, but you know me, always having an itch to switch things up, so I decided to paint the entire room the same color as the back wall from the first refresh which was still in place when the mural was added.

So it was bye bye to the BM white dove  and hello to BM Soot

I love how it turned out painting the entire room in Soot. I think little Ms. loves it too. Click here to shop for sputnik like light fixture featured in the bedroom. Lamps are thrifted and furniture was bought in Italy when we were stationed there.

Our Smart Garage Upgrade In Time For The Holidays

LiftMaster Smart Technology

We’ve been slowly and meticulously adding smart home devices to our home that not only enrich our lifestyle and help us to be more efficient, but also help to ease some of the stresses that come with busy parenting.

I am never not multitasking and now because of the pandemic and working from home in addition to the children being home all day and virtual school, life hasn’t slowed down a bit. Now that we are in the Holiday season, things are even more hectic, so I was thrilled to partner with LiftMaster to help ease some of the Holiday stress and to simplify the Holidays! Our garage is now equipped with myQ smart access technology, thanks to the installation of the LiftMaster WLED Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener, LiftMaster Smart Garage Camera, and the Yale | LiftMaster Smart Lock.

What does this mean for a very busy Mama?

This means I no longer have to worry that I left my garage door open and about my Amazon Prime packages sitting outside for too if I am not home because I had to make a Starbucks run or if I’m too busy helping my kids with online learning to go get it right away. LiftMaster’s myQ powered devices all work seamlessly with Key by Amazon In-Garage Delivery to provide Amazon Prime members with a secure, contactless and convenient place for all of their package deliveries.

LiftMaster Smart Technology

An easy upgrade to an existing myQ connected garage door opener, the Smart Garage Camera can be quickly installed and connected for added convenience and peace of mind. The myQ app allows you to see and monitor what’s happening in your garage in real-time when you are not home, adding streaming video, recorded events, and 2-way communication to the myQ App.

This holiday season will be different than any other because of the pandemic but having a myQ smart garage can help alleviate some of this season's biggest concerns - like protecting your holiday packages against damage, theft and weather.

With a built-in wide-angle HD camera, I enjoy the convenience of being able to see as the boys play in the driveway. The real-time video monitoring lets me see if they are playing in the cul-de-sac as instructed if I am not readily able to go outside with them.

Did I Close The Garage Door?

No more wondering if the garage door was left open. Receive alerts or check the status of your garage door from your phone—no matter where you are. We’re really loving having our myQ Smart Garage.

This is the children's tree that I moved into the Master bedroom since they are always hanging out in here anyway.  All plush ornaments and diy garlands and some pom pom garlands adorn the tree. I added the colorful paper fan for an overload of whimsy and fun. Cheyenne's pretty dress is from Cuteheads

I usually hang colorful Christmas light above the map mural and love dressing them in matching pajamas. So cute!

Pantone's Colors of The Year In My Bathroom

Bathroom with yellow door and grey marble tiles(Pantone's 2021 Color Choices)

Each year when Pantone announces their Color of The Year, I always jokingly say, "I bet I have that color in our home!" and usually I do! You know how much I have been crushing on yellow. Just take a look HERE, HERE, and HERE.  SO, it should be no surprise that yellow is sprinkled throughout our home. Our Master bathroom is definitely representing Pantone's 2021 Color Choices(yellow and grey). The walls are white but the marble tiles have grey and of course, you can't miss those yellow doors! You can check out the full renovation from last year's One Room Challenge. What do you think about Pantone's choices this year? xx
