Hello, hello! This
has been the most intense 6 weeks and there were moments when I doubted
completing it all in time but here we are on reveal day- we made it! We encountered almost everything that could possibly go wrong during a renovation, but we prevailed. Before we delve into the reveal, I wanted to again thank
Linda for inviting me to be a featured designer in this edition of the One Room Challenge. These makeovers could not have been possible without our sponsors and specifically the ones I partnered with;
Overstock, Signature Hardware, The Tile Shop,
Hudson Valley Lighting, Couture Lamps,
Garnet Hill, Fabricut, Varaluz, Lifecore Flooring, Minted, Emtek Products and
Hansgrohe USA.
I also could not have accomplished all of this without the help of the
panarican_handyman who worked tirelessly to meet this deadline. Also thank you to
the hubby who was away for most of the process, but returned toward the end and helped me accomplish those last minute tasks- thank you my love! AND big shout out to our friends who gave up their Sunday to help with the installation of our new delicious closet system. Thank you too to
Lea Hartman who captures all my hard work so beautifully.
Recap:
Week 1/Week 2/Week 3/Week 4/Week 5
Ok, without further ado, let's dive into the reveals. First up is the bathroom. For the bathroom renovation, the layout remained the same but it was a total gut job. My main goal was to make it feel bright, airy, and spa-like in here. I wrestled with whether or not I would wallpaper or repaint with color. Here are a couple before pics for quick reference below.
before - it was so dark and dated
And voila! After many sleepless nights obsessing about what I was going to do with the walls, I decided to repaint them and the ceiling in one of my favorite whites, Benjamin Moore Cloud White. It took me a number of days to get rid of that dark color in the before but what a transformation! As I mentioned before, we gutted the bathroom and replaced almost everything(except the tub).
The
vanity lights are from Hudson Valley and are perfect in here! I love the abstract element the art pieces I chose from Minted add to the space. I also obsessed about what finish to use and while I am smitten with brass, i settled on brushed nickel for most of the finishes, especially since that's the finish throughout the rest of the house. I did incorporate some brass via the lighting and mirrors, and art frames, but it all look great together.
The bulky his and hers vanities that took up a lot of visual space before gave way to these
modern and beautiful versions from Signature Hardware. The white washed finish adds more texture and movement to the space and I am smitten with the self closing drawers. The
Palora round mirrors are also from
Signature Hardware and help to break up the square shapes in the space.

My color loving self couldn't resist these
subway tiles from The Tile Shop and I thought the rose color was a great opportunity to continue coral/pink color story from the Master bedroom. I opted to use
these marble tiles from The Tile Shop in the same family as the floor tiles in the shower pan and added a touch in the
niche. I updated the shower faucet with the same brand that was there before as I found out that I needed to make sure the plumbing behind the wall was compatible with whatever the new replacement was. I learned so much throughout this process. I kept the brushed nickel finish which complements the shower tiles beautifully.

I initially planned on reusing the glass shower door that was in the space before, but after we completed the space and was about to reinstall the door, we realized that it was no longer going to work. It was sized to fit the tiles which were in the space before and those were much thicker than the subway tiles. For now, I'll just put a shower curtain there until we replace the glass door.
I kept this wallpaper that is in the commode area but added this
darling light fixture from Hudson Valley- so lovely!
I said I wouldn't repaint these doors(see week 5), but I did! It's no secret that I have been crushing on
yellow/ochre so I had to incorporate it somehow in the makeover. I love how it pops against the white and I am a sucker for contrast. It's Sherwin Williams Overjoy and aptly named.
I decided to keep the original tub because I couldn't afford a new one plus this one is still in perfect condition and works just fine. We wrapped it with the same marble floor tiles and kept the existing tub faucets. I added some texture with this
lovely basket from Garnet Hill.
Towels are also from Garnet Hill.
OK, now onto the closet. It's tiny and though I would've loved to be able to add windows, that was not an option. However, I am loving the transformation. Thank you to our sponsors
Overstock and
Lifecore Flooring who made this closet transformation possible. I wanted to wallpaper, but soon realized that since it's such a small space, the wallpaper would've faded into the background once the closet system was installed.
before
I am so happy to come in here each day. I repainted and continued the Cloud White in here. I also replaced the dowdy carpet with wood floors. The
beautiful floor is from Lifecore Flooring and I love that not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but it is also environmentally friendly.
The new
Pur by Bestar closet system from Overstock is like a dream come true! That
gorgeous mirror is such a great addition and opens up the closet, plus would you believe that we've never had a full length mirror before?
Another glimpse at those pretty Lifecore Floors!
I love this view and those
Emtek knobs are shining!
I plan on following up with a video tour of the closet as it was difficult to capture it all due angle and its miniature size:-). Stay tuned
The Bedroom- A Mini Refresh
I didn't do much in the bedroom, but after being a dumping ground and riddled with dust for 6 weeks, it deserved some tlc. I added those beautiful drapes made by a local seamstress, Hannah. Thank you Hannah! The
velvet coral fabric is from Fabricut and ties in nicely with the coral wall color. Those
stately and elegant table lamps from Couture lamps are ridiculously stylish! The most scrumptious and luxurious bedding to ever touch my skin are from
Garnet Hill (linked individually below)
I am loving this pair of art from
Minted in this corner.
We went from having 0 full length mirrors to having 2! This
stunning mirror from Varaluz looks divine in the bedroom.
This blue chair also got a nice facelift
I love how it turned out. I chose this
upholstery fabric from Fabricut. Can't stop drooling! Big shout out to local
Dulceco for doing such a fab reupholstery job! There you have it my friends! I can't believe how much I accomplished over just 6 weeks! Now it's time to kick back and relax.
