It’s amazing the impact new furniture can have on a space! I recently had the pleasure of partnering with Bassett Furniture to give the sunroom a refresh. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. When designing a space, furniture selection is undoubtedly a big deal- some crucial elements such as durability, style, function, and style play a major role.

When making my choices for the sunroom, I wanted pieces that not only expressed my design aesthetic but that were also functional and durable; especially as a Mama of 2 boys and a very active 18 month old. The furniture layout remained the space as it is the most efficient use of the space and the most accommodating of that ginormous diva of a fiddle leaf fig that is in the space.

A velveted piece of furniture has been on my wish list for the longest time so since I would be able to replace the current sofa in the sunroom, I opted for the luscious deep and plush Hunter sofapictured. The prior sofa in the space was very square and boxy and this time around, I wanted something with more curves, so the Hunter sofa with its rolled arms was the perfect choice.  I was able to customize the sofa which was actually handmade in Newton, North Carolina(about 3 hours from us here in Fayetteville NC). I chose the fabric I wanted to have it upholstered in and opted for Premium Velvet in Lagoon. I wanted a color that would complement the already existing blue grey wall color in the sunroom. As you can see Lagoon goes beautifully with the wall color and that premium velvet feels so good to the touch.

I love that Bassett Furniture offers customization options for almost all their pieces, so much that you can even basically start from scratch with their HGTV HOME Custom Upholstery line.

Here’s a before pic for reference

Although I love the teak coffee table that was in the space before(see before pic above), it has sharp edges which can be a hazard for an 18 month old and Cheyenne enjoyed constantly opening and closing the drawers. The Axel round cocktail table that is pictured replaced the teak coffee table and it is not only beautiful in the space but it is round so no hazardous sharp edges for baby! I also like that there are no drawers so I don’t have to worry about Cheyenne potentially squashing her fingers while opening and closing a drawer.

You might have noticed that I also switched out the rug. The existing rug was too small for the Axel Cocktail table so I replaced it with the zebra rug from the living room. The zebra rug is bigger but still has the same black and white palette as the other rug which works for the overall color scheme of the space. So what is now in the living room you might be wondering…? Well, I’ll show you that space shortly.

The WheelWright accent table from Bassett Furniture’s New Antiquities line that recently launched is pictured to the side of the sofa and is such an elegant piece. I absolutely love the curves, the finish, and its versatility!

The Dwight adjustable floor lamp also from Bassett Furniture, has a bit of an industrial edge that I like and it doesn’t compete with the rest of the space.

A close up view without the table to better show you the beautiful lines of the sofa and the legs.

It feels so good to sit here in the mornings with my cup of coffee and the sunlight streaming in and even the children love to hang out in here and sit on the sofa.

NOW ONTO THE LIVING ROOM

I mentioned above that the zebra rug was originally here in the living room before it was relocated to the sunroom. The rug pictured above is the Clayton Rug(in Snow color) from Bassett Furniture and its 9×12 size is exactly what the space needed. It’s the perfect size for grounding the furniture pieces and the black and white motif acts as a neutral backdrop for the colorful pieces in the living room.

A before pic

As you can see in the before pic above, the zebra rug though beautiful barely fit the orange sectional.

The beautiful Tahiti lamp table from Bassett Furniture’s New Antiquities line add a nice organic touch to the space and its round shape helps to break up the square shapes in the living room and add a touch of softness. I also love that subtle design motif.

What a difference!

I couldn’t be more thrilled with all the pieces from Bassett Furniture and the beauty and function they add to the sunroom and living room.  Also guess what?, Bassett Furniture is currently having a Memorial Day Sale, featuring 25% off Storewide, including up to 50% off Memorial Day Specials, through June 2nd. That’s definitely worth checking out…

So, do you have a favorite piece from the items I shared? xx
