Wallpaper wonders in the playroom. In case you’re new here, this is actually our formal dining room that I converted into the playroom.

I was pregnant with our 2nd when we moved in and the 1st born was about 3 years old. All of our children have experienced this space as a playroom- the best use of this space for our family ✨

These days @glorythefig keeps stealing the spotlight on my press features. In fact, her presence in images is usually a request. No wonder she acts like such a diva🙄.

Anyway, this was a feature in Health magazine in April 2022. Showing a few extra pics here that didn’t make the cut into the magazine feature. Also the room was blue back then. #designaddictmomathome

Tips For Painting Your Doors Like A Pro:

It’s ideal to remove the door(s) from the hinges prior to painting but not a must. If it’s warm out, I’ll remove the door, otherwise I paint it in place. If you remove the doors, be sure to store the hinges etc. in a safe place so you can readily find them when you need to replace the doors. I like to place those hardware in a Ziploc storage bag.

If there are any holes in the door, be sure to fill in with spackle, let dry, then sand. Also it’s a great idea to remove the knobs

Check to see what type of paint your door was previously painted. Dampen a microfiber cloth/rag with rubbing alcohol and rub it against the door, if paint transfers to the rag, it’s been painted with a latex-based product and priming won’t be necessary. If nothing comes off on the rag, you’re likely dealing with oil-based paint—and if you hope to use a newer, latex formula, you’ll need to prime first.

However, if you’re using a product like Benjamin Moore Advanced paint line, you can forego the priming step as it readily adheres smoothly over both latex and oil based paint.

For the finish- A satin or semi-gloss is usually recommended ✨

A rarely seen space because it’s so hard to photograph it; our powder room. This was the first wallpaper I had installed in our home some years ago. It’s showing some wear now and I’m toying with the idea of updating it. Not in any rush though as I love it so much! Guests love taking selfies in here too:) #designaddictmomathome
