Our Halloween Front Door 2016

This year, I gave our monster door green hair and glitter teeth though the glitter isn't really showing up in the pics.

I added an extra dose of "monster-ness" this year with these monster pumpkins the boys and I painted. I sealed them with a mod podge glossy sealant which helps to preserve our handiwork. Have a great day everyone! xx

Our Nugget will Survive.

 Hello everyone! I am happy to introduce you to our orange Nugget. I chose the title above for this post because as a Mama of very two active boys, not just any furniture piece will survive here, especially a piece that is meant for their space.  It must be able to withstand being mistaken for a trampoline and be easy to clean. So far our Nugget has passed those tests with flying colors, hence it will survive!

 Based in Durham, NC(we're literally neighbors!), the company Nugget created a product that is as easy to move as a bean bag, and it's a fully functional piece of furniture, like a futon, but also lighter, sturdier, and more animated than its ancestors. Additionally all materials are sourced in North Carolina and packaged in Durham.

 There are different colors to choose from and you can customize your own, but you know I can't get enough of orange, so... It even came packaged in a beautiful orange box which I am also keeping!!

We love how sturdy it is and the lumbar support from the pillows is wonderful! Because it's portable we can move it from room to room. So far, it has been in Zion's room, the living room, the sunroom, and now(above) in Ian's room. I'm already making plans to curl up here this weekend with my favorite mags and a good book.

Pink Sofas.

Hmmm,  i've noticed a number of pink couches lately-have you? I am definitely not complaining. You know how much i love a pop of pink!  Love the pastel version of the above one via house home uk.

Halloween Glimpses at Our Home.

 I usually keep the decor for Halloween on the simple side, and this year, I chose to sprinkle black accessories and accents throughout. Orange is my favorite colour and takes center stage year round in our home, but during Halloween, it shows off even more. Also, I have a thing for skulls, so you'll also see a couple of those too...

I bought some hanging bats/garland , cut them off the string and taped them to the wall with painter's tape. I love how it turned out!

The Happiest Boy in All the Land: Happy Birthday Ian!

It feels like we celebrated your first birthday just yesterday! Today, you're five years old-Mama is not thrilled about how fast you seem to be growing up! Your always smiling face, sunny personality, your creative flair, and love of kisses fill our lives with explicable joy!

Recovering from the Blues.

Hello there everyone! It's been awhile... Last week, this time I was without electricity and water because we were hit by Hurricane Matthew. Schools have been out all week and the devastation around has been heartbreaking. Many people lost everything... Our little town is in recovery mode and it will be a while before things are "back to normal." I am so very grateful that we are fine.
 Now,  how about this living room (in the current issue of Elle Decoration)? I wouldn't want to recover from these blues-so beautiful! Happy Sunday everyone! xx
