Parquet floors, a warm fire, pretty art, and comfortable chairs make this my room of the day. In fact, I could curl up in this space all day with a book. Oh and of course, I love that chandelier! What do you love about this room? Happy Wednesday everyone. xx

Organization with Drawer Labels.
About a month or so ago, i decided to add labels to Zion's dressers so he could put away his clothes appropriately. Folding and sorting laundry are my least favorite things to do and it seems as if I do them all. the. time. I had to come up with a way to lessen the chore and help Zion stay organized in his room. Zion thrives on structure, so the labels were a great idea! and he actually enjoys helping his Mama(most of the time).
I printed the labels which you can download for free here. We then cut them out and attached to each drawer. I printed them on shipping labels that have the adhesive backing so it was just a matter of peeling and sticking them on; very easy.
a close up and less bright pic so you can see the labels better
Since we've placed them on, there have been less incidences of clothes on the floor etc. Zion knows exactly where the different clothing items go and almost always places them there. It's also great to know where everything is when getting him ready for school in the mornings.
Most of all he learns how to be independent. Have a great weekend everyone! xx

Painted Pocket Door: Before and After
Hi everyone! We are covered under ice, schools are out, so how do I cope, I paint of course! Ideally, I would prefer to be working on the patio style challenge, but since that can't happen, I set my sights on the pocket door in the kitchen. We have a couple of them in our home and I always fancied the look of a painted pocket door. It's a lovely element of surprise because it's so unexpected.
There is the before. Nothing wrong with it at all, but you know me...
I risked falling to snap this pic so you could see the trees covered in ice. Stay warm everyone! xx

Color Me Happy In Madrid.
Did you all have a great weekend? A number of you are probably on a Superbowl high. Am I the only one who gets depressed when exposed to endless days of dreary Wintry weather? I don't know how much more I can take. I guess I should be thankful that we have no snow but the almost endless lack of sun is not what the doctor prescribed...
Today we are off to Madrid(where I am sure it's nice and sunny) to tour this lovely home filled with happy color. Come with me!
Here's to a happy new week! xx
