Road to closing...

We close on our house tomorrow. I am thrilled that we were able to spend Christmas and usher in 2011 in our own home. However, the time has finally arrived to say our goodbyes. I can’t help but think of the phrase, “parting is such sweet sorrow.” It’s great that we sold, but it’s also sad to leave. There are such great memories that were made here.  Baby Z was made hereSmile. We celebrated his first birthday here…*sniff* *sniff.* Anyway, it’s time to move on. We’ve been moving out the last of our things, cleaning, dusting, patching holes, scouring, aka the road to closing.

This editorial is actually called the  Road to Marrakech and was originally published  Vogue UK (January 2005).

I love the saturation of the colours and the juxtaposition of the variety of textures. I see lots of décor inspiration here.

Well, we’ve made it to the first Wednesday of 2011! Happy Wednesday everyone. XX

  18. How exciting to be moving!! Do you know where (have I missed that post? I've been missing from blogging for awhile so it's very possible!). And how wonderful that you sold your house...in this economy. I guess your flare for design must have helped to present everything so nice that the new owners fell in love with it!

  26. Oh I agree that moving is so very bitter sweet. SO many memories behind, but also so many great ones ahead. Moving can be so exciting because it brings great possibilities, and great energy. And although you have so many warm and fuzzies from this house, the new house will bring more love, more joy, and many more new memories to warm your heart. Good luck!

  34. Is there a support group for moms addicted to design? I think I need to go too! :)
Perhaps that is one of the benefits of blogging... to see that it is O.K. to be crazy about feathering our nests like we do. So glad I dropped by today. Love your blog, your style, and your zeal! Congrats with your new home. You will have so much fun creating there! blessings
